FREE VOTE UNLIKELY
SAARBRfUCKEN, Dec. 31. Herr Halm, acting-editor of the Catholic Neue Saarpost, has resigned owing to a German Front allegation that the newspaper is financed from France. Members of the German Front allege that the meeting at Pliess Castel was broken, up by Catholics infuriated by the reception 'of French bribes, but partisianship is so coloring the aftair that it is impossible to discover the truth. In addition to Imbusch, whose head was badly cut, many- were injured. Similar . disturbances are reported m three other villages. The International Force is not preventing local terrorism, which the police, who are under the thumb of the German Front, often abet. Hence a free vote is most unlikely, as only German Front propaganda is possible. Another restaurant battle developed in the Malstant district, when Hitler Youth members and others engaged m a fierce political quarrel. Fifty shots were fired. The Hitlerites took refuge behind the tables and one youth was wounded. The restaurant was wrecked;
