D'ARTAGNAN CASTLE

DESTROYED BY FIRE

TARBES, Franco, Nov. 18.; Firo yesterday destroyed the historic chateau which was reported to have belonged to the most famous of Alexander Dumas' Three Musketeers. The chateau of D’Artagnan, which inspired Dumas to creato his great swashbuckling swordsman and hero, was described as a complete loss. It contained many treasures. Tho D'Artagnan of legend died at the Seige of Maostricht in 1675, killed by a bullet, so the story goes, just as ho was receiving the baton by which Louis XIV created him marshal of France.
