GRANTED DIVORCE
FOURTH HUSBAND ‘CRUEL’
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7,
On a conventional Hollywood complaint of “extreme cruelty,” (Borin Swanson, film star, obtained a divorce to-day from her fourth husband, Michael Farmer, a wealthy Irish sportsman. The actress testified that Farmer, whom she married in Westchester County, NVY., on August 16, 1931, was quarrelsome and took especial delight in embarrassing her before her friends.
“Hardly a day of our married life passed without a quarrel,” she said “Why, while we were in England ho kept mo up all night to quarre. with me.
“One night in a Los Angeles hotel one of the men of our party casually mentioned his physical strength and Mr. Farmer leaped up and wanted to fight right there.” Gloria said that Farmer had little respect for her health and once cunie to her room in a hospital and became so abusive that a nurse had him ejected.
