CHILLED BEEF EXPORTS

SHIPPING I’ACIMTIHS

BRISBANE, Dee. 15. The Meat Industry Board completed its programme of chilled heel shipments for 1934 with a loading of 144 tons of chilled beef into the h.S.N. Company's motor-ship Durham. The chairman, of the board said the extent to which British ship-owners were providing facilities for the transport ot chilled beef from Australia was amazing. Last February there was in sight only about 5000 cubic feet of space available for chilled beef carriage, but soon there would be about 1,500,000 cubic feet. This would mean that soon Australia would be able to ship at least half its exportable beef chilled.
