RAILWAYMAN’S DEATH

SEQUEL TO COLLISION

(Per Pross Association.) HAMILTON, this day. Tho death occurred in the Waikato Hospital last evening of Mr. A. J. Meade, aged 58 years, a married man, of 'Frankton Junction, an inspector of permanent way who was injured south of Taupiri station on Tuesday afternoon, when a motor jigger lie was riding with another railway officer was overtaken by a mixed train.

Mr. Meade suffered grave head injuries and was admitted to hospital in a critical condition. His companion, Mr. H. W. Beasley, district engineer at Auckland, received concussion, but is making good progress,
