Mr. L. Schwabe was the recipient of two presentations at the closing down of the Kopuawhara School, where lie had been teaching for the past few years. On behalf of the children, the headmaster, Mr. Loney, presented Mr. Schwabe with a book and inkstand, and wished him every success ill his new post as secondary assistant at the Norsewood District High School, reference also being made to- the companionships formed between teacher and pupils. At a social evening,' the residents presented Mr. Schwabe with a clock, suitably engraved, as a mark of tho high esteem in which he was held.
