Blue skies were reported south oi Napier this morning, but overcast conditions prevailed further north. Light to moderate northerly breezes were general. The barometer had continued the stow falling movement. Temperatures at 5) o’clock were: Auckland 75 degrees, Tauranga 73, Opotiki G 9, East Gape 74, 'Gisborne and Wellington 71, and Napier 76. Rough seas were reported at Tiritiri ,and Tauranga; elsewhere moderate or smooth. Last Night’s Forecast

Winds strong easterly at first m the tar north, otherwise light to moderate, and variable, with westerly to south-westerly predominating. Seas rather rough north of East Cape and about Look Strait; elsewhere smooth lo moderate. lu too eastern Tasman Sea moderate southerly winds and' moderate seas. Weather stilt mainly fair to cloudy and sultry, but isolated local rains and thunder likely, and some heavy falls in North Auckland.
