MISSING MOTOR CAR

RADIO AIDS SEARCH TWO MEN. ARRESTE# (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, last night. Wireless ' as a means of tracing stolenmotor vehicles has again proved of value to the, polce, and as the result of an .accurate description of a car stolen from Mangaonoho, near Huntervillo, being broadcast at 10 o’clock yesterday, the vehicle was' discovered at Wanganui, and two young men were apprehended. They will appear on charges arising from an illicit journey from Pet-one. through the Wairarapa up to, Taihapc, to Hihitahi across to Ohakune, back to Kafioi, and then down the Wangaehu Valley road via Mangamahu to Wanganui. At 10.30 on Saturday a tourer was stolen from Mr. A. Penny, Raudwick road, Petone. It was driven through the Wairarapa and was found abandoned ilt Mangaonoho on Sunday. At 9 o’clock oil Sunday night a car belonging to-'Mi’S.' Elizabeth Mclntyre, Mangaonoho, was removed from a ggrage near her house, It. , was driven north through'' Mangawekuifutjiku, Taihape' to Hihitahi. At that'point;'a'store owned by Mr. Brophy ’was'broken into and a quantity of cigarettes and money stolen. Later the car was soen at Ohakune, where the Ohakuno police gave chase. The stolen vehicle proved to be too fast, however, and-headed back towards Karioi. At 9,o’clock this.morning the-descrip-tion of , Mrs. Mclntyre’s car was broadcast from 2YA, and at 10 o’clock tliel vehicle was discovered in a vacant section at Durio Ilill, Wanganui. Detectives J. Walsh and L. Packman ,wcro placed in charge of inquiries, and about- midday arrested two young men.who ate to appear at the court charged,' with unlawfully' converting two cars to their own use and breaking and entering! the Hihitahi store.
