AUCKLAND THUNDERSTORM (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A thunderstorm of awe-inspiring intensity which swept down the East Cbast towards Auckland from the north early last evening presented a thrilling sight from the city. While the south-eastern suburbs close to Auckland felt only the fringe of the disturbance, KohiiUarama and St* Heliers Bay were soon enveloped in dense rain. After about 20 minutes the storm passed ihland and the districts surrounding Ilowick, Whitford, Clevedou and Papakura experienced its full force. In these areas, lightning interrupted the electric power. The storm was> a spectacular display.
