Loyal Gisborne Lodge, No. 6087, Manchester Unity Qddfejlows, held its fortnightly meeting last night, Bro. A. G. Hicks, N.G., presiding over a' fair attendance, which included members of the City of Christchurch and Morrinsville lodges. : , The first business was the initiation of both honorary.and benefit members, and this ceremony was impressively carried out by the officers, lister A. W. Niven, P.G., with Bro. F. 6. Ellis. I*o.. being the conductors Bro. .1, A. Vugg presided at the organ. Lodge honors were given at the instigation of Bro. H. T. •Sinden. I’.G.. and the final address and the presentation of badges brought the ceremony to a. close. Sickness certificates were received, and si, Considerable amount of correspondence dealt with. Nominations of officers were leceived, and keen interest was displayed by members, there being three nominations for the office of ‘oTCrtiVe secretary. The delegates from the Friendly Societies’ Council reportwl having attended n meeting recently at which the fpipstion of the hospital agreement wai considered,in view "of the fact that the present annual agreement would terminate shortly.
