INTER-CLUB MATCHES THIS .WEEK’S DRAW The first- of the season’s inter-dub competitions, under ..the auspices of the Gisborne Bowling Centre will commence this week, when the Gisborne and Poverty Bay clubs will exchange visits oi representative rinks on Thursday and Saturday. An innovation in connection with (he competition is that instead of having liverinks from each club competing on each of the two days, there will be live sections, each comprising lour rinks, two from Gisborne and two from Poverty Bay. The aggregate points scored in a given section will decide the section, and (lie Winning club will receive four points. The draw for this week’s matches is as under:—
Thursday, on Gisborne green.—Section l: Phillips (P. 8.) v. Holmes (Gisborne); Whiting v. Stephenson. Section 2: Hartley (P. 8.) v. Sinclair (Gisborne); Gardiner v. Armstrong. Saturday, on Poverty Bay green.— Section 3: Robertson (P. 8.) v. Bright (Gisborne); Cameron v. Sutton. Section 4: Somervell v. Coleman; Hopkinson v. McGregor. Section 5: Hickman v. The New Zealand bowlers were in good form, yesterday when the Tink championship of the centenary carnival began. Hunt’s team defeated Glcniris by 22 to 10.
