SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES
(Parliamentary Reporter.)
WELLINGTON, this day
The Coalition Party held a long caucus to-day, at which the Cabinet’s proposals lor a modification of the Agriculture Emergency Powers) Bjill were submit:ecl.
It lias not yet been ascertained which of tli© several alternatives to the original constitution of the Executive Commission was approved, but ft was evident from the satisfactory conclusion of the discussion that there has been a substantial change in this respect. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, stated that the amendments would be, circulated in due course in a supplementary order paper, but not before to-morrow, and possibly later, because, as lie explained, there is a noconfidence motion before the House in relation to native administration, and the usual procedure is that while the Goverincnt is on its trial it makes no further important decision until a verdict- is given. ' . “The Opposition will have all the time it requires for the. native discussion,” commented Mr. Forties. “If to-day is not- sufficient, they can go on talking to-morrow.’’
