Mr. A- Kirkpatrick, Gisborne, was one of the Romney sheep judges at the Manawafu Show last week. Mr. A. W- Swap is acting chief postmaster in place of Mr. (}. Nelson, who takes his annual leave from to-day. Mr. Nelson will ho oil' duty for several weeks. The visit of Royally is good for business of many kinds, from the' City Corporation’s electricity department to the sellers of cheap hunting for the flagwaving thousands who will line the city streets, remarks the Dominion. Another section of business which is experiencing busier days as a prelude to the Duke of Gloucester's tour of New Zealand is the tailoring trade. Inquiries made at several Wellington tailors revealed that quite a number of morning and dresssuits have been made, and numbers of others are on order. A discussion on club activities followed the weekly luncheon of the Rotary (Hub to-day, Rotarian A. Stoneham presiding, and it was resolved at the suggesting ol the president (({otariau R. F. Gambi'ilo to give whatever support was possible to the organising of celebrations to mark the visit of Jlis Loyal Highness tho Duke of Gloucester. Various suggestions were offered, and these will lio considered at, Hie public meeting coil* I veiled by the Mayor for next Wednesday evening, at which it is hoped there will be a large representation of the business and social interests of the community.
