An upward tendency was also maintained abroad, with 707,091 tons, according to Lloyd’s Register, including Japan, 149,750 tons; France, 120,868 tons; Germany, 120,816 tons; Denmark, 74,938 tons; Holland, 70,735 tons; Italy, 37,970 tons; Sweden, 64,565 tons; and the United States, 22,225 tons. Motor ship world tonnage is 764,909, and oil tankers 324,712 tons.
