OBITUARY
One of the oldest residents of Haivera, Mr William Acourt, has died, Jigcd So. He was horn at Lower Huft. Deceased carried on ,a (blacksmith business in Pa tea and llatVera.
An old and respected resident, of .(Stirling, Otago, Mrs Sarah Dun Kirkness, has passed away. She was horn in Ayrshire, Scotland, on February 9, 1552, and at 12 years of ago sailed with her parents to New Zealand in the ship Andrew Jackson. Captain William Cox has died at Waiuku, Auckland, aged 82. He was a son of Mr .and Mrs William COx, early pioneers. Deceased commanded the cutters Alarm and Three Brothers, trading between Auckland and the islands, for a number of years, and in 1376 ho took the steamer Tangilma to Northern Wftiroa, where it ( was engaged in. towing timber. He later became master of the steamer Pearl, which ran for many years as a ferry between Dargaville. and Mititai. An Auckland message announces the death of Mr Frank Joseph Bodlo who, for 25 years, was the Auckland manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited. For over 4(1 years tic was associated with banking ,and commercial interests in the province. Mr Bndle was born in Ireland, and was the fourth son of the late Major George Bodlo, of the 10th Regiment. He came to New Zealand in 1876 and joined the staff of the Bank of New Zealand. He later transferred to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, with whom ho remained for 40 years.
