SILENT ■ MOTOR-CYCLES'
(British Olticiid Wireless.) Hit. 10 a.in. RUGBY, Sept. 11. At the British Association a demonstration was given of a new type of motor-cycle .silencer, which, il was claimed, would eliminate the noise of a machine’s exhaust) and which had been perfected as a result of investigations made following an inquiry- into Hie question of decreasing street .noises. Sir Henry Fowler, chairman ,of the association’s committee which has been investigating the subject, and who is now chairman of'the Ministry of Transport, committee dealing with the same question, attended the trial, which was carried out- by Wing-Commander Cave-Brown-Cave, ,w.ho states that not only was a great reduction in noise effected, but, when compared with many other types of silencers, resulted in a small increase in horsepower.
