POWER DISTRIBUTION
MUNICIPALITIES’ RIGHTS
ASSOCIATION FORMED

Sixty delegates from all parts of the Dominion met at the first conference of the New Zealand Municipal Electric Power Supply Association yesterday.
The Mayor, Mr T. C. A. Tlislop, who .'presided, said the association was not formed in any spirit of antagonism to the existing association, which comprised both power boards and municipalities. The association was merely formed to protect the rights and privileges of municipal councils. Out of 3!) municipalities supplying power, 37 had joined. Buies and constitution were adopted, and the following officers elected: President, Mr Hislop; vice-presidents, Messrs. J, Miller, Mayor of Invercargill, and C. O. Morse, Mayor of Napier. The executive council is to consist of delegates from Hamilton, •Lyttelton, Stratford, Wairoa, Christchurch, and Palmerston North. The appointments of a secretary and advisory engineer were left to the executive.
