PROFESSOR ROGER FRY

(British Official Wireless.) R'ce. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Sept. 10. The death is reported of Professor Roger Fry. who was Slade professor or’ fine art at Cambridge; aged 67 years. Professor Fry was one of the most; distinguished authorities on European art, history, and literature. SIR T. STURGES-JACKSON (British Official Wireless.) Roc. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Sept, 10. The death has occurred of Admiral Sir Thomas Sturges-,Jackson, aged 92 years; senior officer of Dis rank in the rctiied list of the Royal Navy. MR. \YM. BALL ANT YXE (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. TLe death lias occurred of Mr. William Rallantyne, aged 70 years, managing director of Messrs. Rnllnntyno and Company, general drapers, and a son of the founder, Mr. .Tolm Ballantyne. 110 was a widely-known business man. He bad been attending to business up to yesterday, when he became ill. He was a prominent member of the Methodist Church.

A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr. J. Rum was passed by the Waikohu County Council to-day.
