Though there were several sporting fixtures of interest proceeding on Saturday, the All Blacks’, match at Sydney with the elect of New South Wales Rugby men absorbed the interest of most followers of games, and five out of six of the sporting inquiries received at the Herald office during the . late hours of the afternoon concerned the ai> rangements for the broadcast for this international trial. Even after 5 p.m., when the broadcast was actually in, progress, telephonic inquiries were still being made about the match, and pressmen engaged in clearing tip their day’s work suffered cheerfully the many interruptions from this cause. The last ring of the day, before the editorial department was vacated, was, however, from a youthful Rugby enthusiast to whom the All Black match was apparently of little moment. “Please can you tell me who won the junior match between High School and Old Boys?” he asked, eagerness in every tone of his voice. Provided with such information as was available, he expressed ,1m thanks and rang off without a word of inquiry for the fate of the New Zealand representatives in Sydney, or oven of the Poverty Bay representatives in their match at Te Archa,
