Great fortitude was displayed by James Potter, 14, a pupil of the Auckland Grammar School, who was run over by a train at Penrose on Wednesday. The lad, who belongs to Onelmiiga, had alighted to change trains, and was walking along the ballast when ho was struck by the rear of a shunting train. The wheels passed over his leg, which was practically savored just below the knee. The injuries necessitated amputation of the leg.
