OBITUARY
The rlenth occurred at flic Cook Hospital on Thursday of Mrs. Matilda Catherine Noble, aged 72 years, indict of the- late. Mr. Richard Benjamin Noble. She had been ailing for four or five, years and had been receiving treatment at the hospital for some time. The, deceased was bom in Dublin, Ireland, and at the age of 17 came to New Zealand and married Mr. Noble at Auckland. They resided there for about 30 years, when Mr. Noble’s health broke down and they removed to Waitakere, where Mr. Noble, as a Maori war veteran, received a grant of land. For many years Mrs. Noble held the position of postmistress in that district, but on the death, of Mr. Noble about 20 years ago she came to Poverty Bay and had resided hero ever since. She. was a prominent worker in the Church of England. Mrs. Noble had one son, who was killed in the Great War. She leaves a daughter, Airs. A. J. Evans, of Motu. The interment took place at tlie Taruheru cemeteiv tljis morning.
