To-day’s North Island Report. Overcast conditions were reported this morning at, Auckland and Wellington, but, blue skies prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Last Night’s Forecast A moderate westerly depression is moving off New Zealand and an anticyclone is approaching from the westward. The latter at present is centred; over south-east Australia. Winds: South-westerly, moderate generally and fresh at places in the far south and along the east coast. Seas (N.Z. waters): A considerable southerly swell south of East Cape; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman: Moderate southwest winds, moderate seas. Weather:' Mainly fair to cloudy; some scattered showers or misty rain likely, especially along the. east coast and in the far north and south; cool temperatures. Midday Forecast. General inference. —Pressure is still rather low east of the. Dominion, but an anticyclone is approaching from the Tasman Sea.

Forecast. —Light to moderate southwest to west winds. Weather fair, mild and Jiazv. Seas moderate.
