BUSH TRAGEDY
TRAPPER’S BODY FOUND SEARCH PARTY’S TASK ' (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. A party of searchers in the Tararua ranges to-day found the dead body of the missing trapper, Alfred Young, 22, near The Cone. The party, which was equipped with a portable radio apparatus, communicated with Wellington and police immediately left to examine the body. A party of 16 is staying out the night, and tomorrow'morning will take the body to The Cone hut, a journey of about two hours from where the body was discovered. A small party will leave Greytown with two pack-horses to proceed to The Cone hut to bring the body to Woodside, near Grey town, where it is expected to arrive late in the afternoon. The Cone is a 3547 ft. peak on the saddle between hit. Hector and Mt. Reeves. The ridge lies between the Waiotme and Tauherenikau water-sheds. The country was difficult for the search- • prs, who set out on Saturday with very ’ meagre information.
