MOTHERHOOD

BERLIN’S EMBLEM BERLIN, April 28. A pink stone woman, 18ft. high and clasping a baby to her bosom, has been placed in the Arnswalderplatz, one of the largest squares in Berlin. Nearby is a pink stone bull. 'The figures are porphyry sculptures, which Professor Lederer has prepared for a great Fountain of Fecundity as a perpetual reminder to German women of the attractions of motherhood. 'The monument covers an area of 3850 square feet and consists of 600 tons of stone.
