LONDON APPLE MARKET LAST WEEK’S PRICES The High Commissioner’s cable message dated May 12 reviews the London fruit market as follows: —_ “The Tamaroa pears are in sound condition, the apples slightly forward. The Middlesex, Sultan Star, Doric Star and Kangitane will be discharging nextweek. Current prices are : “Apples.—Alfriston, 8s 6d to 10s 6d ; Ballarat. 9s 6d to 11s; Cleopatra-, 9s to 10s 9d; Cox’s Orange, 10s to 15s • Delicious, 8s to 13s; Dunn’s Favorite, 8s to 11s; Jonathan, 7s 6d to 11s; London Pippin and Lord Wolseley, 7s 6d to 9s 6cl ; Mackintosh Red, 8s to 10s 6<i ; Adams Pearmain, 7s to 8s 6d ; Desert Gold, 8s 6d to 9s. “Pears. —Cornice, 16s; Winter Cole, 11s fid to 13s; Buerre Bose, 12s 6d to 14s 9d; Bcuito Clairgeau, 9s to 9s fid: Vicar of Winldield, 8s 3d to 10s; Packham’s Triumph, 15s; Josephine, 12s to 14s 6d : Winter Nelis, 12s to 14s 3d; Elizabeth Cole. 11s to 12s 3d ; Twyford Monarch, 10s to 10s 9d; Bcuito Diel, 9s 6d.” A line of East- Coast wethers, medium quality, was sold at the Cambridge stock sale on Monday from 17s fid to £l. Eggs are still scarce in Gisborne, and are being sold retail at 2s fid per dozen.
