Mr T. J. Archboid, of Christchurch, Grand Master of the New Zealand branch of the Manchester Unity Independent Order 6f Oddfellows, is making a tour of the North Island. Mr. P. Levi, senior partner of tlio legal firm of Levi and Yaldwyn, Wellington, celebrated last week the fiftieth anniversary of his admission as a barrister and solicitor of the Supremo Court. Mr. D. L. McKay, who was for seven years assistant-district Public Trustee at Auckland, and has been for the past 6.) years district Public Trustee at New Plymouth, has been appointed inspector of the Guardian Trust and Executive Company. Professor IT. H. Cornish, who has been appointed Solicitor-General in succession to Mr. Justice Fair, was for a short time on the staff of the Gisborne High School. He subsequently went to Wellington to study law at Victoria University. Guests at the Masonic Hotel during the past few days included Mr. and Mrs. Johansen (Wellington), Mosilames F.
