RIDING OF ORAPAI (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Advice was received in Wellington last night from the secretary of the Egmont Racing Club that at, the conclusion of the second day of the Hawera races, the judicial committee of the Egmont Racing Club held an inquiry into the running of the horse Orapai and took certain evidence. At a meeting of the committee, the inquiry concluded, but no further evidence was taken. However, the following resolution was passed : “After hearing the evidence of the owner and trainer, .T. O’Neill, and the rider, It. Reed, we decided that O’Neill be exonerated, hut we view the riding of the horse with grave suspicion, but on the evidence before us we decided to take no further action.”
