The Drapers, Clothiers and Boot Retailers’ Federation, at its conference in Wellington this week, passed the following resolutions regarding the rate of exchange on London:—(a) “That the present' rate of exchange is seriously affecting imports and retarding the normal How of trade.” (b) “That, the uncertainty in respect lo tho exchange rate is very unsettling to the trade, and i! is essential that there should, at, the earliest sible date, be a return to normal condb lions, with the control of exchange loft, in the hands of the banks.”
