CONVERTED TO FASCISM
BRITISH LABORITE DISTURBANCE AT MEETING (Eluc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received May 14, 2 p.m.) LONDON, May 13. The fact that the ex-Laborito, Mr. John Beckett, who once was suspended by tho House of Commons for removing the mace, has been converted to fascism, led to lively scenes at a Black Shirts meeting at Newcastle-on-Tyne. The crowd of several thousand greeted him with cries of “Traitor,” and soon there wero free fights with sticks and stones. The police ordered tho meeting to be terminated. Mounted police had to stampede the crowd, from which Mr. Beckett was escorted to Fascist headquarters, which were then besieged until further charges dispersed the mob.
