FOG FOLLOWS RAIN

WEATHER IN BRITAIN VESSELS RUN ASHORE (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 2 p.m. RUGBY, May 2. Although most of Britain is experiencing a spell of sunshine after welcome rains which have diminished the water shortage anxieties, fog is being experienced round the coasts. The Dutch motor vessel Westlaan went ashore in a dense fog at Portland Bill during, tho night and members of the crew, with the wife and two children of the captain, were brought ashore by breeches buoy. The Westlaan was refloated this morning. Tho schooner Mary Miller also went ashore in a thick fog off Dnngeness Point. She is in no danger, unless the wind freshens from the south, and it is hoped to refloat her during the day. In the meanwhile two lifeboats and the Dungeness life saving crew are standing by.
