FORCED LANDING
AIRMEN IN CHANNEL
RESCUED BY 1 FISHING BOAT

Rec. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, May 2. Two airmen, Gadzar, a 19-year-old Indian of Bombay, and M. Hell, of Vienna, 20, made a forced landing fn the fog over the Channel during tho night when their petrol supply became exhausted. Their distress signals wero observed by the crew of a French fishing boat which was 18 miles north-west of Dieppe and both airmen were rescued, having suffered no injury apart from a few bruises;
The airmen, who had been undergoing advanced aviation instruction at Southampton, wero returning from the air pilots’ conference at Geneva when tho mishap occurred.
