(For Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, this day
An audacious burglarly was carried out last night in the Laundry Company's premises in Sussex street. Burglars levered a sliding door off its rails to gain an entrance and then carried ,a small safe from the office and down a flight of six steps into the factory. They ■could have been seen by any passer-by through a glass window. They removed the safe to the factory floor, using a truck for the purpose, and then carried it down into the electric, fuse room, which lias a concrete floor. There they burst it open with explosive, removed the money it contained, and departed through the back door. While in flic office they ransacked every drawer and strewed the contents 'on the floor.
The safe contained only petty cash about £5 in all.
