PLANS FOR U S.A. MUCH EXPERIMENTING WASHINGTON, April 26. The charge that lie is a second Kerensky, and that he is sending the United States toppling'info a Red Soviet revolution, was denied' to-day by the President. But, he said, he is determined to experiment. The accusation, originally brought by Dr. William Wirt, has been largely discredited in view of his admission that he obtained the information frbm his own friends, hut Mr. Roosevelt took the opportunity to reply to it. In doing so he stated rather fully his hopes and aspirations for the United States. He had been booked for a three minutes’ formal address at the opening of the Homestead Exhibition at Washington, but he spoke for half an hour. His statement was also notable for his criticism of people who seek to cure the country’s ailments with panaceas. He was referring to the inflationary and silver proposals now being debated by Congress. ‘‘When you hoar talk of revolution in this country,” said the President in the confidential manner he can assume with great earnestness and effect, “just tell them that there is one letter too many in that word. It should be evolution. There is no Red plot here,” he declared emphatically. “What we'are doing now is to create a new national policy and we shall do that thing if it takes SO years. “There are going to be experiments—many of them.
“Some of the experiments are going to work ; some are not. We have got to discover, however, the right wav and the wrong way. Wo are lazy. We don’t like to think ahead. I would like to see grantor enthusiasm for planning because it takes years sometimes to get results.”
