PLANES TOUCH
TWO PILOTS KILLED
LONDON, April 21.
Two Air Force 250-mile an hour single-seater Fury planes collided during manoeuvres at Northolt aerodrome, and both pilots were'killed. _ ; ' : The victims were Flight-Lieutenant R. Brown and Flying-Officer W. Tanner, their parachutes failing to operate. One machine, flying beneath the other, suddenly dipped, rose again, and struck the upper plane. * 1 The pilot, of one machine was buried 3ft in the ground, and the planes resembled balls of twisted iron.
