HIGH EXCHANGE POLICY

NO BREACH OP OTTAWA (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. Speaking at a gathering at Morrinsville last night, the Rt. Hon. ,T. G. Coates made a statement that the increased exchange was not a breach of the Ottawa agreement. As a ' result of various factors, the raising of the exchange rate gave a margin to producers. There ljad been no marked increase in the cost of living. He added that a diversion of trade from the United Kingdom to Australia had not been caused by New Zealand's action.
