The proposals, when completed, will be submitted to the various State Governments, which are expected to announce their general policies within about a month. Mr. S. M. Bruce’s speech at Canberra, in conjunction with Mr. G. W. Forbes' definition of the'attitude of the dairying industry, is regarded as significant' in political circles. While Britain has no intention of varying the Ottawa agreements in regard to dairy produce', except by agreement, the fact that t)ie meat obligations end on June 30, involving prior negotiations with the Dominions, may provide aii opportunity of raising lit the same 1 time the question of dairy imports.
