THE MONTHLY MEETING The Poverty .Bay-provincial executive of the Fat'hiers’‘ tJhion met to-day. , Tlifere 'were preseht:—Messrs. J, K. Benson, president, W. Turnbull, F. S. Bowen, If. B. Bull, D. J. Gumming, G. {V. • Smith, T. J. Foster, and tho organiser, Mr. D. M. Robertson. The secretary, Mr. C. Blackburn, re- ■ ported that Mr. 11. Innes, of Otoko, and Ml'.' E. V. Richardson, Ngatapa, were 'in hospital at present. It was agreed to write a letter of appreciation to the Cook County Council for deciding to prosecute farmers leaving - briar hedge clippings on the roadway to the danger ot travelling sheep and butchers at the freezing works. It was also hoped that the Waikohu County Council would take a similar stand. It itfas decided to hold the annual provincial meeting of the union on May 26, when the annual dinner, attempted last year for the first time, would be held, the ■ chairman and secretary to make the necessary arrangements. Ddminioft headquarters advised that tho Dominion executive meeting would be held in Wellington on May 2. Mr. Bension said'lie would not bo able to atteiid on that occasion.
