MILFORD SOUND ROAD
SURVEY COMPLETED REPORT TO GOVERNMENT (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this clay. A preliminary survey of the mountain country through which the Milford Sound road will have to pass has (been completed, and a report is now being prepared. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. A. Hamilton, who travelled from Invercargill to Wellington yesterday, said that the engineer in charge of the survey had returned to Invercargill fl,nd was preparing a report which would probably 'be presented to the Government shortly. Then the continuation of the road would be considered. He did not know what the Public Works Department was likely to recommend, but he thought it would toe a tunnel through the Homer saddle.
