Queensland Dairying
large areas of cheap land available, the dairying industry in Queensland in recent years has mado progress. The price of land has been particularly attractive, and easy terms have been offered to buyers. Some farmers who about two years ago purchased 1000 acres of land at 10s an acre on 30 years' terms commenced dairying with a few head of cattle, and they are now milking 70 cows or more.
Production costs arc low because of the small capital outlay on property, and consequently the dairy farmers mentioned are not so perturbed at low prices for butter-fat as are dairymen in most of the producing centres of Ncyv South Wales and Victoria, where land is of much higher value.
