OBITUARY

MR. J. C. THOMSON, EX-M.P. (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. The death is reported of Mr. J. C. Thomson, who represented Wallace in Parliament for 20 years, for 14 years was a member of tiie Otago University Senate, and for 34 years a member ol the Southland Education Board. Tim deceased, whose health had been failing for years, was aged 68 years.

MR. W. G. ASPINALL (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. The death lias occurred of Mr. W. G. Aspinall, formerly a barrister of Temuka, where he took a leading part in public affairs, aged 80 years, lie retired from practice eight years ago, and went to live with his son at Stewart Island.
