THE WEATHER To-day’s North Island Report, Overcast conditions were reported at Gisborne this morning, but blue skies were fairly general elsewhere in the North Island. Light to moderate southerly breezes were general. The barometer had risen steadily since Thursday. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were: Auckland, Tanranga, and Opotiki 60 degrees, Fast Cape 59, Gisborne and Napier 58, and Wellington 56. Rough seas were reported at East Cape: elsewhere model-, ate or smooth. / Last Night’s Forecast An intense anticyclone extends from Eastern Australia across the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Winds: Soutlioastcrly to southerly, strong at times ir. the far north, otherwise light to moderate; later winds becoming variable in the South Island. Seas: Rather rough north of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh winds in the northern qior fion, with rather rough seas; moderate variable winds und smooth to moderate seas in the southern portion.
