HAND LOST IN EXPLOSION
(Per Press Association.) MASTER TON, last night. While working with gelignite on a creek bed near Featherston this morning, Mr. J. L. Burt had the misfortune to lose his right hand. A mailman discovered the victim trying to reach help, and rushed him to Featherston, where his hand was amputated above the wrist.
