WEDDING RECEPTION

YESTERDAY’S FUNCTION

Le Grand Cafe was the scene of a large gathering yesterday afternoon, when Mrs. C. H. Seymour entertained a large {lumber of guests at a delightful wedding reception following the marriage of her daughter Mary to Ronald Caldwell Bertram at Holy” Trinity Church. The large reception room was furnished with many long tables, decorated with mixed pink and pastel-tinted flowers and sky-blue paper streamers to match the bridesmaids’ frocks. Delicious refreshments were served, after which toasts were honored and the usual speeches made. Mr; W. G. Sherratt proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, the latter responding. Mr. W. Bissau! Clayton proposed the toast to the bridesmaids, for whom the best man, Mr. Hedley Reeves, replied. Mr. C. E. Smith, T'olaga Bay, proposed the health of the parents of the bride and bridegroom, after which Mrs. Seymour and Mr. Bartram each made a much-appreci-ated speech. Musical honors accompanied each toast. After the wedding breakfast, guests were invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. B. Willock, Kaiti, to see the beautiful wedding gifts, including numerous cheques, lovely silver, china and glassware, and many other useful and .artistic presents, which were displayed to in the drawingroom arnid prettily-arranged autumn flowers. The bride changed there from her wedding gown into her smart travel*, ling ensemble, a pretty blue woollen frock and a grey tailored coat and hat, with accessories to match, and left with the bridegroom oh a motor tour, her departure being witnessed by many guests and being accompanied with showers of confetti and many good wishes.
