PETROL FROM COAL
USE BY AIR FORCE SATISFACTORY RESULTS (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 10 a.m. RUGBY, March 1; Only small quantities of petrol extracted from coal were used by the air force for tost and experiment prior to last year, when one home defence squadron flew solely on such fuel. Sir Philip Sassoon stated in the House of Commons that in view of the very satisfactory results of this trial, a contract had now been placed to cover the requirements of seven squadrons.
