RECORD MEETING CLOSE FINISHES At the Victoria Domain last night the Poverty Bay Professional Athletic and Cycling Club held a record sports meeting. It is considered that the attendance was the largest that has been seen at one of the club’s meetings. As a result of good handicapping and keen competition close finishes were witnessed. In some cases only inches separated the competitors, making the work of the judges very difficult. Both in the heats and the final of the 75yds. Ladies’ Handicap exceptionally keen competition was seen. The 10-lap cycle race, which drew a field of 14 starters, proved to be one of the most interesting events, with all the cyclists finishing close up. Results were as follow : 75yds.
