“A LONG SHOT”
DUNEDIN ENTERPRISE FINANCE FOR AVIATION l (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. An application for a portion of the •offer of £200,000 for the aerial defence of London, which was recently declined by the British Government, has been made by the Mayor, the Rev. E. T. Cox. He stated this morning that Lady Houston had twice made this offer, which was declined by Britain. A portion of this sum would be acceptable for the extension of aviation in ■Dunedin, and Im, had just applied to her Ifbr it. t “I’t’s a long shot, but well worth trying,” he said.
