BRITAIN AND FRANCE TRADE NEGOTIATIONS (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 10 p.m. RUGBY, Feb. 26. The British Government has handed to the French Ambassador in London its reply to the French note regarding quota restrictions, which suggested that pending negptjations for a new commercial agreement, the present measures should remain in operation, but that no new ones should be instituted by either side. Although it is possible that further conversations between the two Governments may be necessary, it is now hoped that the negotiations for a new agreement will begin during the coming month.
