HOLDEN CtJP SHOOT r r. J. JEUNB’S TEAM FIRST The second shoot in the annual tournament for the Holden Cup, eonducted by the Gisborne Defence Rile Club, took place at the MangapajJa range during the week-end, and oh'the aggregate score for the two shoots the cup was annexed by No. 3 team, coached by F. J. Jeunc. No. 3 team scored the highest point* in both shoots, registering 410 in the first, and 415 in the second, a total of 825: J. Johnstone’s team,' No. 5, tilled second place, 10 points behind, having scored 409 points in the first shoot, and 406 in the second. No. 5 team's total was one point better than that registered by No. 2, coached by It. 0. Miles, which scored 404 points'in the first shoot and 410. in the second. The higjiest aggregate score for the dav was registered by It. Bull, a member of the .winning team, with a total of 111 Aroints for the three ranges. An outstanding performance, however, was that of one of the club’s youngest members, Allan Ford, a member of No. 2 team. Ford did not-do so 1 well at 300vds, but he scored 38 at .both the 500 and 600yds distances, these being the highest scores at the : two long ranges. There were two other 38’s at, 500yds, but none of the 'other marskiuen did better than 36 at 600yds. $ Feints scored in the first shoot were previously recorded in the Herald.
