CORPORATION LOANS CURBING SPECULATION WASHINGTON, Feb. 23. Among over £4,000,000,000 lent by 17 large corporations in the New York money market during the boom of 1929, the largest was nearly'-£3,600,000,000 by the Standard Oil Company, New Jersey, from earnings. At present, the corporation has only £2,200,000 in Wall Street.

Mr. Thomas Gay, attorney for the New York Stock Exchange, before the Senate Banking Committee, challenged the constitutional power of Congress to control the securities market by the proposed bill.
