ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
TUNNEL TO BANK ALGIERS, Feb. 24. Burrowing under a street, two Arabs gained access to a Sidi-bo.l-Abbes bank and forced the strongroom door. A nightwatchman detected them and called the manager and a clerk, who surprised the robbers. The latter attacked the trio with revolvers, fatally shooting them, and decamped after shooting a fourth European who tried to intercept their exit.
